Artist's reference:
Elisabeth Estivalet was born in 1952, in Poland, and in the late 1970's fell in love with and moved to Provence in France, it is this landscape of her adopted home that has been her inspiration. Painting solely with a palette knife, Estivalet taught herself to master the techniques of colour management, perspective and composition. Her style is one that sets her aside and in her own right although she is rightfully compared to the masters of Post impressionism. Her career blossomed in the 1980's having entered and won numerous international art competitions
The international acclaim and exposure she gained from these art competitions led her to Art Expo Las Vegas in 1996, where she officially debuted her work in the U.S. a highly profitable relationship with a New York publisher ensued, this relationship resulted countless sold-out solo exhibitions from east coast to west coast.
No one who has seen Estivalet’s work can be surprised by the magnitude of her international reputation. The early gold medals for painting from the Salon International de Nyons, the Salon International de Cassis, the Salon International de Mallemort de Provence, the Salon de Cavaillon, the Salon International de Rive de Giers, the Salon International de St. Chamond, and the Salon International de Teil, among others – and collectors from around the world seek out her work to add to their collections.
