Jane Taylor 'Garden Table', RWS, RSBA
£250
An original signed work by Jane Taylor RWS (British) (1925-2013) was both a painter and art teacher. Her works don't appear on the market often and those that do tend to be in the 'cabinet picture' category, slightly bigger than a miniature. This one is a delightful view onto a garden table beautifully painted in watercolour and gouache. A light and free touch to the composition the artist has, without being slavish to the detail, captured the essence and magic of a country garden table, with its variety of eclectic planters/flowerpots and their content. It is a small picture that packs a great deal of punch. We date this to around 1970, it is contemporary with similar pictures she produced dated from 1965 onwards.
Size: Frame 34 cm x 29 cm, image area: 13.5 cm x 8.2 cm.
Condition: Excellent, ready to hang, double mount, gilded frame and glazed.
