19th century Bronze figure of Mozart as a youth
£195
A patinated bronzed spelter statue of Mozart on marble base
After Bruchon, this is a french spelter figure dating to the end of the 19th century we believe this to be spelter rather than hollow cast bronze , no attempt has been made to scratch the body to identify the base metal.
This figure depicts Mozart as an adolescent and probably was a good subject for a composer that was a child genius. It is finely detailed and crafted/sculpted. The base is a fine deep red french marble, the plinth is coloured metal and bears an original brass title plaque.
The condition is excellent, no damage to report and no wear to the patina. It looks tp all intents and purposes as a fine patinated bronze statuette. Heigth is 13.5cm and the base is 5 inch diameter
