1902 Doulton Lambeth Coronation Beaker

1902 Doulton Lambeth Coronation Beaker

£85

A fine quality Doulton Lambeth stoneware royal commemorative beaker, marking the coronation of King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra in 1902 in fabulous condition and undamaged. It is well modelled with crisp detail. This is one of the rarer Royal commemoratives, it wouldn't have been a cheap nor mass produced item in 1902 and as such makes it in this condition a rare survivor.

The beaker is decorated in the individual palette most associated with the Lambeth factory, rich blue glaze and muted greens and browns.

The Beaker has a wide band around the circumference decorated with high relief medallions featuring portraits of the King and Queen, between Art Nouveau motifs .

The base is stamped ‘Doulton Lambeth England’ with the no.5136 and the scripted incised potters mark of ‘BH’ .

~ Dimensions ~

The jug has an approximate diameter at the lip of 8cm (just over 3 inches) and stands at 12.5cm (just under 5 inches).

It weighs unpacked 0.37Kg.

~ Condition ~

The Beaker is in EXCELLENT condition with no damages, chips nor restoration.
