19th C. Staffordshire of Scottish Couple and Clock
£125
Staffordshire figure (dating to circa 1860) with a charming pastoral theme featuring a girl and a boy seated beneath an arch of grape and vine with a clock face central and above their heads. The characters are seated on an oblong base (possibly a bench) and are both dressed in the Scottish fashion. Flatback, decorated only to the front. Vent hole to the underside.
Size: 8 1/2 inches high by 5 3/4 inches wide and 2 1/4 inches deep ( unpacked weight 460 gms)
Generally this is in great condition, there is no substantial loss to the decoration and there are no repairs etc. the model has no cracks (there is a minor firing one to the underside), the only condition issues to note are, one small loss to the rear and underside of one of the small outcrops and four glazing rubs to four of the other outcrops, these are all to be anticipated with these figures of this age.
