Doulton Lambeth 1902 Jug Edward & Alexandra

A fine Doulton Lambeth stoneware commemorative jug marking the coronation of King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra in 1902, in fabulous condition and undamaged.

The jug is decorated in the palette associated with the Lambeth factory at this time, rich blue glaze and muted greens and browns.

The jug has a wide band around the circumference decorated with high relief medallions featuring portraits of the King and Queen, Prince John and the Prince of Wales (later King George V) between Art Nouveau motifs representing the four nations of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

The base is stamped ‘Doulton Lambeth England’ with the no. 1213 and the potters mark of ‘LB’ .

The jug has an approximate diameter of 11.5cm (4 ½ inches) and stands at 18.5cm (7 ¼ inches).

It weighs 1.05 Kg.
