Eichwald Art Nouveau Planter/Cache Pot
£95
Original (circa 1900) Art Nouveau, Eichwald, Pottery Planter /cache pot. Green Glazed with pink highlights, typical period and style design of geometric shapes & rings with floral decorations
With the Eichwald stamp and model number (7837/7) to the underneath and underglazed.
Eichwald was the 'brand' of Bernard Bloch who was pre-eminent in the field of ceramics in the late 19th early 20th century in Bohemia.
This model is 14 cm high and 17cm diameter. The condition is very good, some surface glaze crazing to the inside, to be anticipated with this type of ceramic, but the pot is ringing well and true which indicates there is no structural issues.
Historical notes:
The town of Eichwald is now named Dubi which was a result of the formation of Czechoslovakia, (after World War I, Under the Treaty of Versailles) created from the territories of both Germany and the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
