Moser Crystal Gilded Large Goblet and Cover
£165
A rare individual piece of Moser glass. It is in the form of a goblet and cover dating to mid 20th Century (it follows on from the Lady Hamilton design launched in the 1930's). It is a clear crystal glass, with a conical gilt edge foot rising to a faceted stem below a strawberry diamond cut ball knop below the ogee form bowl decorated with a gilt band around the rim with foliate scroll detailing. The cover repeats the design, a plain dome shape lid, with thumbprint panel cuts a central post following the facet cut form of the stem and also sporting a strawberry diamond cut ball knop.
The piece is a magnificent accent piece or usable as a bonbon dish. Iit has been suggested that it may have been designed as a ciborium although the other items that have reached the market in this pattern have been traditional dining stemware, so we suggest it's more a dining centre piece. It is unmarked, (not unusual).
Size: height 12 inches including cover of the goblet alone 7 1/4 inches high. The bowl diameter is 3 7/8th inches, the foot is 4 inches diameter.
Condition is excellent, no damage and no signs of use, with no loss to the gilding.
