Vintage French Sevres White Opaline Wine Glass
£85
his is a signed Sevres opalescent wine glass dating to the 1950's. The decoration harks back to earlier periods, being a typical 19th century grape and vine garland as applied gilding. The foot, foot rim , knop, stem and lip are also banded in gold. The mark is a faint etched scripted Sevres to the underside of the foot. This glass from the Sevres Cristallerie is usually plain, there are a few that have applied decoration although grape and vine is a rare example from what our research has uncovered.
Size: 18 cm high 8 cm diameter at the rim.
Condition: We grade this as good to very good, there are no issues to the glass, it is undamaged and even shows little to no wear to the underside of the foot. However there is wear to the applied gilt decoration, we have photographed the item to show it as completely as possible. As with all our items, we always value and price taking into account condition.
