Japanese Lacquerware Footed Plate

Dating to the turn of the 19th and 20th century this is an unusual form papier mache footed plate/shallow dish with vine leaf shaped handles is in the Japanese aesthetic style, depicting various iconographic images of birds and dragons with a central cartouche of noble ladies. The plate is hand decorated over a traditional black lacquer body.
Condition is very good, no more than the to be expected age and use marks, but nothing major and there are no breaks nor repairs.
