Mid 19th Century Brass Heart Shaped Trivet
£50
A really good example of this genre of trivets and pot stands, dating to the mid to latter part of the 19th century, this is for a small pot. It is in the combination of heart shapes designs common for the period. This is not a single casting, it has the flat platten as the surface piece into which the spigot legs are set, although when one looks at the surface it has been ground and polished so well and the fit of the leg so accurate that the legs and their positions are nearly invisible. The brass is nice and straight in every respect, and the pierced body well finished. It has a good patina but no damage.
Size: 23 cm long by 12 cm max width and overall is 3.5cm high.
