Signed Arts and Crafts Hammered Copper Tray

Dating to around 1900, this is an English hand hammered Arts and Crafts, heavy gauge oblong serving tray. The item is formed from a single sheet of metal, the shallow side wall and handles being pressed/formed from a single flat sheet. It is hand hammered with the planished finish to the flat surface and a punched three point repeating motif to the inside fold. The handles and corners have curved profiles, the handles being particularly 'organic' in design.
This is a high quality, hand crafted item. Heavy and substantial in size. As with most quality items there is a signature 'RB' to the underside of one corner (we do not offer any confirmed attribution to this maker).
It has been cleaned but not polished, and no mechanical nor abrasive work undertaken (the decision to take back to an 'as new' state is at the discretion of the buyer), therefore it is bright and ready to use, in excellent aged condition with the expected accumulated signs of age use (light surface scratches).
It is heavy, weighing unpacked 1.773 kg (just under 4 pounds). The tray body is 50 cm long by 35 cm wide (the length with handles included is 56 cm).
