

Victorian Cranberry and Silver Perfume Bottle

Circa 1897 assay Birmingham silver top, Victorian cranberry glass scent bottle. (makers mark probably EG , but unidentified)
A flat sided miniature flask shape with faceted smooth cut corners and shoulders, rich cranberry glass with a repousse sterling silver flip top lid.
The scent bottle comes with its original tiny glass stopper which is a nice, as very often these are easily lost.
Scent bottles were sold empty in the Victorian era and the lady would have the bottle filled with her scent of choice at a perfumiers, they often adorned the dressing table and were as much an item of beauty as they were an item of function.
Condition:
Very good, to be expected age related signs but without damage and no chips cracks etc. hinge is fine, closure definite and secure, glass stopper original and undamaged..
