These wedges are hard to date accurately; from the wear, the subject, the carving and material we suggest this is a mid 20th century vintage wedge. It has a naïve quality that is charming as well as being a very practical item. There are little details that suggest more thought has gone into the product than something mass produced. Things like the lip on the back edge the assist with the lift/grip.
