Mid Century Reverse Glass Painted Tray

This is a small serving tray, (cocktails rather than dinner). It is worth noting that, albeit a small item, it is a substantial piece, a good weight and solid.

These peacock decorated /reverse glass painted trays occasionally do have origin marks for West Germany, this does not have any such mark, but we do date to 1950's approximately, made in West Germany, with a chrome over wood frame, a wooden base , nickle plated handles screw fixed to the frame gallery. In great condition and becoming more scarce as the years move on. The black ground as well as the painting is 'as new', no scratches, no losses and bright and sharp, in short a really good example. As well as the painting there are areas of mother of pearl inlay to highlight the feathers and the branch.

Condition, excellent, a bit of age related wear but other than that a really fine example of mid century homeware
