Lunar Globe on Stand
£95
1980's educational globe showing the Moon and Apollo landing sites
A truly rare survivor, this was used in the late 20th century as an education aid. As such, it is pre-computers and an object for instructing a classroom. The use would almost certainly make it difficult after 40/50 years to find undamaged or unworn examples such as this.
It is designed as a globe that can rotate in its cradle through all axis, in effect it can spin freely in all directions, mimicking planetary rotation.
This is a 4 1/2 inch diameter globe, overall it sits 5 1/2 inches high. There was a larger version used by the teacher, this one was a desk top piece
Apart from the fact it is old plastic and slightly aged, it is in excellent condition, no damage and the rotation is smooth and without issue. The 'harp' is also perfectly sound.
