19th Century Circular Chess Board and Box

This is late Victorian ebonised wooden chess board and box in a circular form, which may have been used for travel, given its size. It has a simple penwork decoration of a foliate form on the top, with a stained grid to mark the playing surface. It is in very good condition given its age.

The box has a diameter of 20cms, its height is 3cms and each playing square is 2 x 2 cms.
