Circa 1900 Silver Plated Oval Gallery Tray
£110
This is an unusual gallery tray, and given its size and design we would suggest it was for a sideboard probably with a decanter, maybe an ice bucket and water jug with a couple of glasses. It is of a size that it probably would not have been a serving tray, there are large bun feet giving the tray legs, the gallery is an open display ball and rail, it all suggests a static tray for keeping drinks off the furniture.
English, dating to circa 1900, it is high quality silver plate, marked EPNS and has a five point start makers mark, which we have not definitively attributed.
Size: handle to handle 14 inches, tray platform 12 inches length width 6 inches and overall height 1 1/4 inches with a 3/4 inch gallery.
Condition: Very Good, it has been lightly cleaned (non mechanical and non abrasive) , there is some age signs but nothing one would not expect and nothing to detract from the quality of the item. Plate is in tact, only point to note is one of the underside original nuts is missing, however despite this the whole frame is solid and shows no issue with having the loss
