Pair of 1925 Adolf Mogler Silver Mounted Decanters
£950
A stunning and all original pair of pure art deco designed decanters, with the makers mark of Adolf Mogler of Heilbronn (Germany). The shape cut and polish are everything one expects from this period design, clean geometric lines depicting the sunburst (one could be fanciful and think its the sun going down signalling the time to relax with an evening drink, although it is probably a case of it being that iconic motif of the period translated into the design of the decanters)
The body is a multi-plane flared slab, it isn't a straightforward flat sided bottle, we have taken angled photographs to show as best we can how interesting and intricate the shape is.
Both collars are fully marked for German 800 grade silver and is the markers mark for the period 1920 to 1930.
size, each bottle has a maximum width of 6 inches and front to back is 3 1/2 inches at its thickest point, the overall height is 7 1/2 inches with the stoppers in.
Condition: the bottles, stoppers, and collars are all in excellent condition, the decanters have been used and there is internally slight evidence of use, but it is slight.
